LaGardo Tackett Cookie Jar

LaGardo Tackett, an American designer who started as a geologist and drafted in WW II later became well known for his ceramics. After the war, he took pottery classes in Pasadena with a GI bill. Later known as Tack, worked with other ceramists such as David Cressey and Malcolm Leland. As a group, they were soon invested in by two entrepreneurs making their operation into a company named Architectural Pottery. Later in life, between living here and Japan he gained a new appreciation for ceramics. Tack’s designs are described as whimsical in his later years as evident with this cookie jar.
